Reflex Yoga is a unique form of therapeutic neurodevelopmental yoga designed to support the nervous system, emotional regulation, and whole-body integration. It is a gentle yet powerful practice that combines rhythmic movement, breath, and mindful awareness to rehabilitate the primitive reflex system, the foundation of our neurological, physical, and emotional development.
By working at the root of these early movement patterns, Reflex Yoga helps restore balance between brain and body, allowing regulation, clarity, and ease to emerge naturally.
Primitive reflexes originate in the brainstem and guide the involuntary movements that support development in infancy. These reflexes help form essential connections between the brain and body, laying the groundwork for movement, coordination, learning, and emotional stability.
Ideally, reflexes integrate as a child develops. However, due to neurodivergence, trauma, stress, illness, or disrupted early experiences, reflexes may remain retained or re-emerge later in life as a protective response.
Retained reflexes can contribute to a wide range of challenges, including sensory processing difficulties, emotional dysregulation, anxiety and stress patterns, developmental delays, issues with coordination and balance, as well as sleep disruption and ongoing fatigue. Reflex Yoga supports the integration of these reflexes through natural, rhythmic movements that mirror early developmental patterns, helping the nervous system return to a more regulated and balanced state.
Reflex Yoga uses specific sequences of rhythmic, repetitive movements, similar to those experienced in utero or early infancy, to help the nervous system complete unfinished developmental patterns.
Reflex Yoga uses rhythmic, developmentally informed movement to help the brain and body reconnect, supporting smoother communication, coordination, and integrated neurological function.
Gentle sequences help release long-held physical tension and emotional holding patterns, allowing the body and nervous system to move beyond stress-based responses.
Practices are delivered with sensitivity and choice, supporting regulation without overwhelm and allowing the nervous system to settle safely at its own pace.
Through predictable rhythm, breath, and mindful movement, Reflex Yoga promotes deep relaxation and a sense of internal safety essential for healing and wellbeing.
Yotism is not a general yoga practice adapted for autism.
Our work is purpose-built for neurodivergent minds and bodies.
Every method we teach is designed with an understanding of neurological development, sensory processing, and regulation.
Our approach combines modern neuro-sensory knowledge with time-tested yogic practices, ensuring our work is both evidence-informed and holistic.
We prioritise safety, rhythm, and predictability, helping the nervous system settle before expecting engagement or expression.
We work respectfully with difference, never forcing compliance, and always honouring individual thresholds and needs.
We provide forward-thinking, eco-driven companies with the strategy, tools, and technology they need to grow
faster, work smarter, and make a meaningful impact .

Everything we do at Yotism is guided by a clear set of values.
These principles shape how we teach, how we practise, and how we support those who trust us with their learning and healing.
We meet individuals where they are, responding with understanding rather than trying to fix or change behaviour. Safety and trust always come first.
A settled nervous system is the foundation for learning, communication, and growth. We never demand engagement before the body feels safe.
Every neurodivergent journey is unique. Our work honours personal rhythms, boundaries, and ways of expressing the world.
We combine research-informed practice with empathy and intuition, ensuring our work is both effective and deeply human.
We focus on sustainable regulation and development, not quick outcomes. Real change happens gently, over time.
Nicole has a lifetime passionate connection for therapeutically meeting those with diverse needs. At the age of 16 she started volunteering for Mencap offering respite for families of children with profound Autism. From that moment on she has never strayed from supporting the SEN community.
At 20 she trained as a yoga teacher, Reiki practitioner and Holistic Therapist and since then has grown and developed with the world of yoga as we know it now along with the opening of awareness, diagnosis and science backed information for Autism, ADHD and SEN in all its diversity.
